Sakamichi no Apollon

This is the new series by Shinichirō Watanabe, who you might know as the creator of the amazing Jazz & Blues filled Cowboy Bebop, an anime which (for me at least) demonstrated that the medium could be used to tell serious stories rather than the endless retelling of mahou shoujo/shonen/harem that is so prominent.

It’s set in the Summer of 1966 and follows a high school student’s discovery of Jazz and where this takes him.

With Yoko Kanno again providing the soundtrack for it I can’t wait to start watching :3
